District Branding, Signage Guidelines & Environmental Graphics
In 2010, Hudson Related purchased an underused shopping district on Roosevelt Island to create a new retail focal point. Our work started with a logo design (inspired by the island’s shape), which was later extrapolated for other uses, including gateways at each end of the district, crosswalks, and banners. We went on to develop retail signage standards for the new leaseholders, allowing them flexibility to display their brands while maintaining consistency throughout the district. Finally, we spearheaded a campaign to brighten up empty storefronts and attract new storeowners and customers.
