Via Collective (formerly The Office of Katie Osborn) is excited to announce another new project with the Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA). This is the second project for Via Collective in Randall’s Island Park, following the success of the new wayfinding system which improved park access through directional signage, maps, and destination banners.
As part of the recent Randall’s Island master plan improvements, three natural areas in the park are being restored – the Water’s Edge Garden, the Saltwater Marsh, and the Wetlands. In collaboration with RIPA’s natural area specialists, Via Collective will design three interpretive signage systems to engage and educate visitors about the wide variety of flora and fauna that can be found in these locations.
Randall’s Island is a premier recreational destination, providing 480 acres of parkland and attracting more than 3 million visitors per year in the heart of New York City. Features include picnic areas, playgrounds, athletic fields and Icahn Stadium, a premier track and field stadium that hosts national and international events.
RIPA, a public-private partnership, was founded in 1992 to manage and develop Randall’s Island Park. In this capacity, RIPA works in close coordination with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, the New York City Department of Transportation, and MTA Bridges and Tunnels to execute their mission.
