Via Collective is thrilled to announce that we will be working on the wayfinding program for four new Metro-North Railroad (MNR) stations as part of the Penn Station Access project. These four ADA-accessible MNR stations will be located in the Bronx neighborhoods of Co-op City, Morris Park, Parkchester/Van Nest, and Hunts Point. These are the first MNR station stops in the East Bronx. They will increase access to Westchester and Connecticut via MNR’s New Haven line, in addition to creating a one-seat train ride to and from Penn Station for MNR passengers. The result will be new transportation options for an under-served area of the Bronx, linking communities across the region with improved access to jobs and services.
Via Collective will be working with HNTB to develop the schematic design documents for these four stations, including definition of the wayfinding strategy and creation of location plans and message schedules.
