Haven Project
Placemaking
New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is spearheading a transformative master plan to renovate a network of open spaces in the South Bronx to improve physical environment at the neighborhood scale. The plan, called The Haven Project, will help improve access to Randall’s Island Park. Working closely with local business stakeholders and the community, we developed key placemaking and wayfinding cues to encourage the connection of the neighborhoods to Randall’s Island and St. Mary’s Park. Through a series of elements including building graphics, banners, store frontage displays, and bus shelter and fence graphics, we created a continuous narrative of information and graphic language. The multiple starting points” within the series connect people throughout the neighborhood and allow them to experience the program as a campaign.
