Interior Wayfinding System

Pine Street School, a pre-K through fifth-grade school located in lower Manhattan, is part of the Green Ivy Schools system. The four stories of the school sit in a corporate office building in a space designed specifically for them. As the school’s programming grew, they required wayfinding, informational, and identification signage that connected to the youthful audience and dressed up the beige and white walls.

We worked with the team to develop a colorful and bold wayfinding and information system that was empathetic to the needs of the students—and the limited budget. The wayfinding program was designed around the brand’s colors, a range of greens, and additional colors that were added to denote floors and functions. In order to successfully stay within the budget, we kept our focus on vinyl wall applications with simple flexible signage options for the informational sign types.
