Project Manager

Project Manager: (Full Time Hybrid)
To be successful in this role, you have 5-10 years of managing large scale wayfinding projects specifically within the transportation and city sectors. A background with a wayfinding design, architecture, or engineering firm required.
A demonstrated track record of leading and executing profitable projects while building talent capacity is needed, along with high standards of organization, strong customer service skills, a positive and solutions-focused attitude, and a drive for success. A successful project manager will enjoy contributing to team collaboration and building client relationships while taking ownership of their work and taking pride in delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities
- Manage large scale infrastructure projects and clients simultaneously
- Establish and implement project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company policies
- Management of the entire project lifecycle from definition/scope through implementation
- Act as a technical resource for the project team and lead design review meetings
- Lead client communication and coordination including issuing agendas, notes, and schedules
- Coordinate and prioritize project needs, resources, and information internally and with the client project teams to move the project forward
- Identify required and optional changes in project scope and negotiate changes with clients as warranted or best practices suggest
- Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle; including coordinating with clients, vendors, and other project partners
- Work with the Principal and New Business Coordinator, contributing to the technical direction of new business proposals including project scope, budget, and timeline
- Work with the Principal and Finance Director on invoicing.
Qualifications

Salary Range: 50 – 60K

This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and enthusiastic about growing within the field of environmental graphic design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Support: Collaborate with the design team and Project Managers to understand project goals, timelines, and deliverables. You will contribute to the design and production of schematic, design development, and construction documents.
- Drawing Production: Assist in creating detailed and accurate signage drawings, message schedules, and location plans. You will ensure all drawings meet the required standards and specifications using software such as Sign Agent Pro.
- Code & Standard Application: Review and apply industry codes (e.g., building, fire, accessibility) relevant to each project, ensuring all designs meet required regulations.

Wayfinding & Environmental Design Director
Salary Range: 100 – 130K

As a Wayfinding & Environmental Design Director, you’ll be the creative visionary driving our design philosophy and approach. You’ll provide strategic leadership to our design team, setting the creative direction and ensuring exceptional quality across all projects. Your role is critical in mentoring designers, developing creative talent, and translating our firm’s design vision into transformative environmental graphic experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead and motivate a talented design team, aligning their efforts towards project goals. Provide mentorship and foster individual growth, ensuring consistent, high-quality project outcomes.
- Strategic Project Oversight: Own the overall strategic direction of projects, from concept to completion. Collaborate closely with project managers to guide project development, ensuring that design aligns with client objectives and company standards.
- Design Leadership: Bring innovative, creative, and precise design solutions to all projects. Develop compelling narratives for deliverables of strategy and design; understand how to present and “sell” ideas to clients. Foster a creative attitude and environment with colleagues and junior staff. Prepare technical drawings, specifications, bid documents, and production-ready artwork. Support and assist junior team members through the development of design documents (all project deliverables and presentations), as required. Review and feedback of Progress Prints submitted by junior staff.
- Quality control: Be the final QC point on all projects before sending to clients. Oversee the review efforts of graphic layouts, construction documentation, and production-ready artwork. Assist with project punch-list and punch-list report as required.
- Learning and development: Proactively seek to expand design and management skill set, and encourage others to do the same. Provide critical, inspiring and thoughtful feedback to junior team members.
- Deliverable Accountability: Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work, with full ownership of all design deliverables. Maintain high standards for accuracy, quality, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client & External Collaboration: Build and sustain long-term partnerships with clients, vendors, and external collaborators. Act as a key liaison, ensuring smooth communication and successful project outcomes.

- Design Fluency: Expertise in design fundamentals, including typography, color theory, and user experience design. Skilled in leading conceptual development and creating visionary design ideas that drive innovation. Passion for great design with the ability to be stylistically flexible. Ability to design three-dimensionally and articulate design-intent. Knowledge of municipal and building code requirements is essential, as is knowledge of signage fabrication means, methods, and tolerances.
- Project Leadership: Strong track record of managing the strategic direction of projects, ensuring deliverables are on time, on budget, and meet or exceed client expectations. Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
